Associate Attorney
Professional Experience
Eric D. Ranney is an associate attorney at Palmer Law. While a law student he became a licensed legal intern for Palmer Law and worked in the Oklahoma County Public Defender’s Office for the Veterans Diversion Program and Felony Division/Capital Crimes.
Education
Eric earned his Undergraduate Degree Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Major in Public Health and a Minor in Criminal Justice. While at UCO he was honored with the Bertha “Jackie” McCallum Award from the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies for academic excellence.
Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the Oklahoma City University School of Law and was awarded a CALI for Texas Legal Research.
Military
Eric proudly served in the Third Battalion First Marines during Desert Storm and Civil Disturbance Operations in the L.A riots. He continued his service with Oklahoma Army National Guard’s 45th Infantry Brigade where he participated in Hurricane Katrina relief and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. Eric retired from the military as a Sergeant First Class with a total of 23 years of honorable service.
His awards include the Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Achievement Medal with three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; Combat Action Ribbon (USMC) and the Infantry Blue Cord.
Personal
Eric was raised in Eastern Oklahoma and joined the military while still in high school. He practiced community service by becoming a CLEET-certified Reserve Police and volunteered for over seven years. His travels and service have taken him to both coasts and over a dozen foreign lands where he learned appreciation for many cultures and cuisines.
